The supplement industry is built on opacity. Proprietary blends that hide dosages. Health claims backed by studies that prove nothing at the dose in the bottle. Influencer deals dressed up as endorsements. Formulas that change without notice and labels that tell you what the law requires, not what you actually need to know.
The most radical move in that environment is to publish everything. Open source software does this. You put the code in the open, invite inspection, and earn trust you cannot fake. We named ourselves after that idea. Open Source Nutrition Project. The name is the brief.
What is OSNP?
This is the Open Source Nutrition Project, a consumer education and human optimization community with one simple goal:
To set an example for what industry standards around supplement labeling, transparency and traceability should look like.
We give consumers tools that help them navigate the complex landscape of existing nutritional supplements and educate them on how to make better decisions for their health and their wallets.
We develop rigorous standards around how supplements should be made, labeled, and communicated to the consumer by supplement companies. Every ingredient named and listed. Every dose based on clinical research. Every supplier disclosed. Every claim traceable back to a study you can read yourself.
We demonstrate that these high standards can realistically be achieved — we have begun to create our own products based on the demands of our White Paper.

The confusion is not incidental. It is the product.
Informed consumers are bad for margin. A consumer who knows how to read a label, trace a claim to a study, and calculate a cost per effective dose is a consumer who cannot be sold a proprietary blend at a 400% markup. So the industry makes sure most people never learn.
The tools already exist. PubMed is free. Certificate of Analysis requests are your right. Third-party testing databases are public. The process for evaluating any supplement is not complicated. It just requires someone to explain it without also trying to sell you something in the same breath.
That is what OSNP is for.

We built OSNP around a specific sequence. Skip any step and the whole thing falls apart.
The Guide is a six-part field manual on how to evaluate any supplement from any brand, including ours. It covers health claims, clinical evidence, label anatomy, brand trustworthiness, and decision-making. You do not have to buy anything to use it. That is intentional. Education before the sale. Whether you buy from us or not.
The OSNP White Paper sets out exactly what we require of every product we make: third-party testing, full COA access, clinically validated doses, complete ingredient transparency. We publish the standard before we publish the product. That way you can hold us to it.
Every OSNP product exists to prove the standard is achievable at a price that does not require margin built on confusion. We make what we make because we would buy it ourselves. We do not make what we cannot defend in full transparency.

Open source means everything is visible. Every formula, every supplier, every decision, every mistake. There are no proprietary blends here, no information withheld because it might complicate the sale.
When we get something wrong we publish the change log. You can see exactly what changed, when, and why. That is not a marketing position. That is how we operate.
Nutrition means the full picture. Not just supplements. Food, sleep, movement, lifestyle, the research behind all of it. Supplements are a small part of how people stay healthy and we will always tell you that.
If something outside our product range is more useful to you, we will point you there.
Project means this does not end. There is no finished version of OSNP. The guide gets updated. The product range grows when the evidence supports it. The standard stays the same regardless of what is convenient.
This is a long term commitment to a different way of doing things, not just talking about them.
Everything is visible. That is the point.
Every formulation decision has a reason. Every sourcing choice has a rationale. Every change to a product or a position gets logged publicly in the Change Log. If we update a formula, you will know why before we ship the new version.
We will tell you when we think you do not need something. You do not need most of what this industry is selling you. A good diet beats most stacks. Good sleep beats almost everything else. When the evidence says a product does not work, we will say so, even if it is one we make.
